TA/Petro Joins Women In Trucking for “March to the Salute” Event

WITThe Women In Trucking Association (WIT) will hold its fifth annual “Salute to the Women Behind the Wheel” event on March 29, 2014 at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky. Because of a new program offered through TravelCenters of America (TA) and Petro Stopping Centers, professional drivers may buy fuel at one of their locations and then redeem their UltraONE Points for a full one-year membership with the Women In Trucking Association. This generous opportunity will allow more drivers to come to the event and become members of this non-profit advocacy group without incurring any up-front fees.

To use redemption points and join Women In Trucking, a driver simply uses the UltraONE Kiosk at a participating location to access the redemption screen. This allows them to exchange 500 accrued points for a one-year membership in WIT. Once enrolled, the new member drivers will have access to full benefits, including the lapel pin, a subscription to the magazine, “Redefining the Road, and exclusive invitations to events sponsored by WIT.

The President and CEO of TA, Tom O’Brien, said, “TA is proud of its relationship with the Women In Trucking organization and happy to help WIT attract new members, and make it easy for professional drivers to join. WIT, which is open to all drivers, men or women, promotes the valuable contributions of fine professional drivers.”

This point redemption program will bring in new members to the Women In Trucking Association. TA/Petro sees this as an opportunity to reach out to potential members who may otherwise be unsure about joining the group. Giving them a first year free of charge allows them to enjoy the benefits and become more acquainted with the membership.  Women In Trucking, TA and Petro Stopping Centers view this program as a valuable offer to all drivers, not just women. The offer extends to any driver in the trucking industry, male or female. In this way, while supporting women in the trucking industry, the group seeks to draw all interested parties together to benefit the industry as a whole.

With headquarters in Westlake, Ohio, TravelCenters of America LLC operates travel centers in 43 states and Canada under TA and Petro Stopping Centers. This includes 249 full-service locations along interstate highways that provide gasoline and diesel fueling services, more than 500 full- and quick-service restaurants, heavy truck maintenance service stations, 24-hour convenience stores, RoadSquad Connect (24/7/365 emergency roadside service) and Reserve-It (truck parking reservations).  For more information on TA and Petro Stopping Centers, visit www.tatravelcenters.com or www.petrotruckstops.com.
