Freightliner Trucks executives recently delivered a commemorative 2017 Freightliner 122SD to Werner Enterprises founder and Executive Chairman C.L. Werner during the company’s 60th Anniversary Jubilee in Omaha, Nebraska.
“We are proud of our long partnership with Werner, and were excited to collaborate with them to build this special truck,” said Steve Mignardi, director of National Accounts for Daimler Trucks North America. “Congratulations to Werner on this milestone achievement.”
Werner commissioned special features for the truck, such as the Detroit™ DD15® 505HP engine, Detroit axles, custom engraved chrome stacks and 60th anniversary decaling. This commemorative 122SD is the latest truck in the more than 50-year relationship between Werner Enterprises and Freightliner Trucks.
The companies began a relationship in 1966, when C.L. Werner purchased his first Freightliner COE. Founded in 1956, Werner Enterprises has more than 7,300 trucks and is a global leader in supply chain and transportation services.
“It is truly remarkable what C.L. Werner has accomplished with our company in 60 years,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Derek Leathers. “It is through relationships like the one we have with Freightliner Trucks that our company has grown from one man and one truck to become the industry leader it is today.”
