Freightliner Trucks has partnered with FlowBelow Aero, Inc., to supply factory-installed, aerodynamic options for the original Freightliner Cascadia® with or without the Evolution aerodynamic package.
The FlowBelow Tractor AeroKit™ is a tractor-mounted system that includes patented Quick-Release wheel covers and aerodynamic center and rear fairings. When installed on the already-streamlined and optimized Cascadia, the wheel covers and fairings work together to create an even smoother airflow and further reduce turbulence and drag on the truck.
“We’re always evaluating new products and partnerships that will benefit the productivity and profitability of our trucks – and ultimately our customers,” said Mary Aufdemberg, director of product marketing, Freightliner Trucks. “Our collaboration with FlowBelow to offer more aerodynamic options for our customers will help further enhance the performance of our most fuel-efficient vehicles.”
The Quick-Release wheel covers can be easily removed and reattached without tools. The Tractor AeroKit is available in a variety of standard and custom color fairing options, as well as polished or brushed chrome wheel covers.
The Tractor AeroKit system is also available as an aftermarket installation at Freightliner Trucks dealerships.
“Freightliner Trucks leads the industry with the most technologically advanced, fuel-efficient trucks available,” said Josh Butler, founder and CEO of FlowBelow Aero. “Together, we are providing increased value while also laying the groundwork for more aerodynamic achievements.”
