Kenworth T370 Receives Air Disc Brakes Option for Front and Rear
The Bendix ADB22X front and rear disc brakes now offer a lightweight design, an automobile type feel, effortless maintenance and high performance. For fleet managers and truck drivers, the new Kenworth feature provides lengthier brake change intervals, shorter braking distances and less weight than when compared to drum assemblies.
Engineers designed the air disc brakes with two-pin floating calipers that provide precise dimensional accuracy and consistent dispersal of force. In addition, the Bendix ADB22X nearly eliminates brake fade without sacrificing braking power.
The air disc brakes come in several options. They are made for a single rear axle with a GAWR of 19,000 to 23,000 pounds with Hendrickson HAS air suspension, or they are available for dual rear axles with a GAWR of up to 40,000 pounds with Kenworth AG400L suspension. This includes front axle coverage from 10,000 to 12,000 pounds of capacity.
Previously, the Bendix ADB22X front air disc brakes were optional on Kenworth Class 8 trucks. However, in December, Kenworth made these brakes standard on all of its Class 8 trucks and tractors.
