Kenworth Takes Fuel Efficiency to New Heights with the New T680 Advantage
Kenworth’s new, most fuel-efficient truck, features a special factory-installed aerodynamic package and the optimized powertrain combination of the PACCAR MX-13 engine integrated with the Eaton Fuller Advantage 10-speed automated transmission.
Kenworth’s on-highway marketing manager, Brett VanVoorhis said, “The T680 Advantage concept we displayed at last year’s Mid-America Trucking Show was a success. The fuel economy benefits resonate with fleets and owner operators looking to save money in fuel costs. We started production this month of the Kenworth T680 Advantage, which features factory-installed aerodynamic treatments and component spec’ing recommendations for added fuel savings.”
Longer side extenders for the T680 76-inch sleeper, lower cab fairing extenders, front air dam, aerodynamic mud flaps, rear fairing without steps coupled with an air deflector, exhaust cut out covers, and optional wheel covers for drive tires are the aerodynamic treatments included.
Additional fuel-efficient specs include speed control management that utilizes speed limiters; the new Kenworth Idle Management System, which eliminates the need to idle in order to run air conditioning; and a tire pressure monitoring system to keep tires at optimum PSI.
