Western Star Presents OOIDA with New 5700XE
Western Star Truck Sales, Inc., is continuing its partnership with the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) by providing a new 5700XE to the organization. The truck will pull OOIDA’s “Spirit of the American Trucker” tour trailer to shows, conferences and truck stops throughout the United States. The partnership was recognized during a special ceremony at the 2015 Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) at the Western Star booth (#30185), where the truck was on display.
Equipped with a Detroit™ DD15® engine and Detroit™ DT12™ automated manual transmission, the OOIDA 5700XE has distinctive blue paint and boasts Western Star’s Phantom Graphic package which provides a muscle car flare while reducing reflective glare for the driver. A plush interior with real wood cabinets, premium upholstery and Ultraleather seats provide great comfort for long hauls.
“We are proud of our relationship with OOIDA, and are looking forward to continuing our support of owner-operators through the organization by donating something else we’re proud of – our new 5700XE,” said Guy Lemieux, marketing segment manager for Western Star.
Added “Spirit” driver Jon Osburn: “It has been an honor to be behind the wheel of the Western Star – on the road, and at every stop, this stunning truck draws a crowd. It will no doubt be fun showing off the new 5700XE and experiencing all it has to offer.”
