Addresses Reasons for the Shortage and Solutions to the Problem
Diesel Laptops, a distributor for commercial truck diesel diagnostic software and hardware, is pleased to announce that it has joined forces with American Diesel Training Centers, one of the largest producers of diesel technicians in the United States, to host a free webinar on July 10, 2019 at 2:00pm EST highlighting the Diesel Technician shortage and solutions to the problem.
Conservative estimates put the Diesel Technician shortage at 20,000 technicians today, with 140,000 technicians needed within the next three years. Currently, technician schools in the United States are producing less than 5,000 graduates per year. Tyler Robertson, CEO of Diesel Laptops, and Tim Spurlock, Founder of ADTC, will be addressing what has led to this massive shortage and what we can do to fix it. Topics to be covered include alternatives to traditional technical schools, methods to increase employee retention and how to use technology to ensure technicians are current with the needs of the marketplace.
“It is no secret that the diesel technician shortage will get worse before it gets better. They key takeaways for webinar attendees are solutions to solve the shortage problem, ideas on how to improve technician retention and free resources to make your current technicians more efficient,” said Tyler Robertson.
Tim Spurlock adds, “ADTC and Diesel Laptops essentially have the same mission, to provide the industry with the workforce, knowledge, and technology to most effectively keep the United States moving and growing. This webinar is our first initiative to do just that.”
