U.S. Chamber Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes to Announce Winner of 2018 Transition Trucking Award
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes, in partnership with Kenworth Truck Company and FASTPORT, will announce the winner of the 2018 Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence award at an 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. event Friday, December 14, 2018, in Washington, D.C. The award recipient will receive a Kenworth T680 Advantage with a PACCAR MX-13 engine and 76-inch sleeper, donated by Kenworth.
Throughout 2018, trucking companies nominated veteran military drivers based on their performance in their organizations as drivers. A public vote and an independent selection committee, including representatives from motor carriers, driver training schools, and trade associations, narrowed the field down to these four veteran finalists: Mordaunt “Platt” Brabner, U.S. Marine and Navy veteran, TMC Transportation;Summar Hanks, U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard veteran, U.S. Xpress; Quinton Ward, U.S. Army veteran, Werner Enterprises; and Christopher Young, U.S. Army veteran and reservist, Stevens Transport.
